From Sunil Grover’s brawl with Kapil Sharma to Punjab CM’s objection to Sidhu doing TV, it looks like that ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ has become controversy’s favourite child. This time Navjot Singh Sidhu has landed in trouble for cracking vulgar jokes on Kapil Sharma’s show.
A senior advocate of Punjab and Haryana High Court, HC Arora, has filed a plea against Sidhu for cracking below-the-belt jokes on national TV. HC arora told TOI on Monday,“I viewed “Kapil Sharma Show” on April 8, 2017 from 9.00 PM to around 10.15 PM. The “comedy” of Kapil Sharma, and particularly that of Navjot Singh Sidhu, was replete with vulgar, double-meaning and obscene dialogues. It violated various provisions of Indian Penal Code, 1860, as well as those of Information and Technology Act. Their dialogues offended my conscience while viewing the show along with my wife and daughters”.
He qouted the dialogues he found offensive-
“ Kapil, tum shaadi karwa lo- 40 saal ki aayu ke baad bande ke
cell khatam ho jaye hain (Kapil, you please get married, otherwise
after crossing age of 40 years, you shall lose your reproductive capacity).”
Elaborating further, he said that sidhu explained the same saying,
“Ek baar ek buzurg look liye washroom gaya, wapas lauta toh us ne
pant ke button band nahin kiye huye the, Jab usey is ka kaaran poocha
toh wo bola, jis sandook mein khazaana na ho, us ko taala lagane ka koi fayda nahin”
Not only Arora asked Sidhu to apologize for the double meaning jokes, but has also asked him to quit the show, as Sidhu is now a minister in Punjab and making such jokes hamper the dignity of Punjab.
